Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe state has approved establishment of Teachers Training Centre, following the declaration of state of emergency on education in the state.
The development was communicated through a statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Baba Wali, on Saturday in Damaturu.
According to statement, “Following the declaration of state of emergency on education and submission of interim report by the Technical committee on revitalisation of basic and secondary education in the state.
“His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Yobe State Mai Mala Buni has approved the establishment of Teachers Training Centre in Damaturu, the state capital to train and retrain existing Teachers.”
The statement also said the centre was to upgrade the capacity of existing teachers, induction programme for newly recruited ones, organise in-house training and improve the capacity of school administrators and quality assurance officers.
